Utility Assistance
LIHEAP (Low Income Heat & Energy Assistance Program) opened November 1st to offer small grants to families and individuals to help pay gas and electric bills. See if you’re eligible and apply online, in person at your local County Assistance Office, by paper application via mail, or by calling 412-562-0330 or 866-857-7095.

For heating or electric crises, such as broken equipment, utility shutoff, leaking lines, or no fuel, you may be able to get help through LIHEAP Crisis. Call 412-770-3677 or visit your County Assistance Office for more info.

You may also be eligible for your utility company’s Customer Assistance Program. Call the customer service number listed for your utility company below to see how you can apply.

If you still need help, after applying for LIHEAP and your utility company’s assistance program, you may be eligible for assistance through the Dollar Energy Fund. Use this map to find a community organization near you to go and apply in person.
