Training Module 1: Immigrant Overview

Connecting to our roots, reasons for immigrating, who they are, demographic snapshot of our region, focus on the largest refugee/immigrant populations, dispelling myths, the benefits of immigration.

Training Module 2: Cultural Competency

Learning cultural competency, concepts, communication styles, cultural humility, and im- plicit bias; strategies, tools, and resources

Training Module 3: Serving Individuals and Families with Limited English Proficiency

Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and language access, Title VI, HIAS standards, working effectively with interpreters, language assistance services, and organizational prepared- ness and communication techniques

Training Module 4: Working with Immigrants-Focus on Behavioral Health

Mental health challenges, cultural adjustments and transitions, resiliency, professional barriers, pathways of access and challenges to accessing services, best practices
