#PittsburghforPPS Back to School Event
When: Monday, August 22, 11am-3pm
Where: North Shore at Gold Lot 1 (W. General Robinson Street) and Acrisure Stadium (Heinz Field)
What: All current PPS students are invited to attend this Back To School event where students can receive free stuffed backpacks, food, cloth masks, and hand sanitizers. Families can choose to participate in one of three ways: 1) Drive through, 2) In-person, or 3) Bus stop drop-offs. Learn more about how to attend this event!
SHIM School Supply Distribution (3 dates)
When: Tuesday, August 16, 10am-2pm; Thursday, August 18, 10am-1pm; Friday, August 19, 1pm-4pm
Where: 8/16 – SHIM Family Center; 8/18 – SHIM Bethel Park; 8/19 – SHIM Bethel Park
What: If you need help with school shopping for your family, all are welcome to join SHIM’s walk-up supply distributions. Three distribution dates/times are offered and two separate locations
North Hills Community Outreach Back to School Supplies Distribution (3 dates, 3 locations)
When: Monday, August 8, 3pm-6pm; Thursday, August 11, 1pm-3pm; Tuesday, August 16, 3pm-6pm
Where: 8/8 – Greenstone United Methodist Church, 939 California AvenuePittsburgh, PA, 15202; 8/11 – 416 Lincoln AveMillvale, PA 15209; 8/16 – NHCO, 1975 Ferguson RoadMcCandless, PA, 15101
What: Every summer, NHCO collects new backpacks and school supplies to distribute to hundreds of local children. They distribute supplies for students preschool through high school. Salvation Army Back to School Bash
When: Saturday, August 6, 10am-1:30pm
Where: Pittsburgh Temple Corps – The Salvation Army, 1060 McNeilly Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15226
What: All students grades K-12 are eligible to attend the Back to School Bash to receive backpacks and school supplies. Registration is required. Please call 412-207-2127 to register for the event.
PAAR Back to School Wellness Event
When: Sunday, August 21, 1pm-4pm
Where: 5 Hot Metal St, Pittsburgh, PA 15203
What: The Child and Family Counseling Center (CFCC) is partnering with local PGH businesses to provide students with what they need to start this school year feeling confident. Get free school supplies while having fun by enjoying free treats, giveaways, and activities that empower students to stay well throughout the school year. RoyallyFit LLC Back to School Wellness Event
When: Sunday, August 21, 12pm-5pm
Where: Community Forge, 1256 Franklin Ave, Wilkinsburg, PA
What: Kick off a fantastic school year with Royally Fit at the Back to School Wellness Bash! Join them for health screenings, resource distribution, children’s activities, healthy food trucks, wellness vendors and more.
