Looking for a job in a new country can be challenging.  Many immigrant job seekers struggle with the unique characteristics of a US job search.  Continuing their tradition of serving immigrants in the Greater Pittsburgh area, Jewish Family & Community Services and Literacy Pittsburgh have partnered together to help.

The Immigrant Workforce Program (IWP) is a cohort-based workforce development program that assists immigrants navigate the job search process. This 9-week intensive career program starts on March 9. Participants meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm for nine weeks.  This interactive and participant-focused program provides the skills necessary to conduct a successful job search and begin developing long term careers.

Topics include resumes and cover letters, successful interviewing, networking, and more.  Participants receive one-on-one career counseling from JFCS career counselors. They also receive English Language learning and vocational language support from Literacy Pittsburgh.  Additionally, they participate in events that include local employers from the Pittsburgh area along with opportunities to meet directly with recruiters. Transportation assistance is available; we also provide refreshments and childcare.
