- 1 herring
- 1⁄2 apple, peeled and cubed
- 1⁄2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons matzo flour or 2 slices bread, soaked in water
