This quick and easy Chicken Teriyaki recipe is eaten across Japan and features chicken cooked with flavorful sauce!

  • 1 pound chicken breast (or thigh), cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Teriyaki sauce (or 2 tablespoons soy sauce + 1 tablespoon sugar + 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (or vegetable oil)

According to food historians, teriyaki was first made in Japan in the 17th century!

Step 1
Place chicken, onion, and 1 tablespoon of Teriyaki sauce in a bowl. Mix and marinate for 30 minutes. 
Step 2
Place oil in a pan. Add chicken and fry over medium heat until done. Pour 2 tablespoons of Teriyaki sauce on cooked chicken.
    This dish is served best with scrambled eggs, sautéed spinach and rice.
